Minecraft, Food And Farming 1

Food And Farming 1

Starving to death in your minecraft world? Need food? This is the place for you!

Today tutorial is on the very basics of Food and farming, i will teach you about wheat and cows.

Wheat!

You will need 3 basic things for growing wheat. A patch of dirt with water next to it, a hoe (the tool not anything else) and a some seeds. Seeds are gotten by breaking long grass which is found on the surface of any biome.
The crafting recipe for a hoe (Can be any material wood, cobblestone, iron, gold or diamond)

Then right click the dirt near the water and it will become tilled! When the tilled dirt is darker it is hydrated (Note: Crops grow faster on the darker tilled dirt.)

Now right click the tilled dirt with the seeds. This plants wheat which over time will grow and can be harvested when they're done.

Bone meal can be used to grow crops instantly, you must right click the crop with the bonemeal.

Using bone meal is extremely efficient as it can grow entire fields of wheat at a time and it can be automated using dispensers.

To harvest your wheat when its done just simply punch it and you will get wheat and 1-3 seeds back. This means with you excess seeds you can replant your fields and expand them.

You can make bread with wheat like this.

You can also make cookies! however they require cocoa beans.

Cows!

Once you have at least 2 wheat you can start cow farming. Cow farming is much more efficient than wheat farming as steak fills more hunger bars.

You will want to make a pen for your cows. For the walls of the pen you should use either Fences or cobblestone walls. You will also need to put 2 gates in to make it easy for your cows to get out.

Cows are attracted to you when you hold wheat in your hand, They will follow you meaning you can take them to your chosen place.

If you right click two cows with wheat they will breed this will rise your cow population over time and then you can kill them to get beef and leather.

Signing off for now.
