Minecraft, A Guide To Redstone Part 4

Minecraft, A Guide To Redstone Part 4 (Inescapable Traps)

This will teach you how to make a simple inescapable (Unless broken) trap.

Firstly create a 6x6 square. a 5x5 square will work too. The edges must be pistons facing upwards and the center and corners can be anything.

You then need to build 3 high poles at each of the corners. The poles can any material (Obsidian would be best as it takes a long time to break.)

Now fill in the gaps between the poles and place a ring of pressure plates.

As you try to walk out the pistons block you!
This trap is only really effective if your waiting for the person outside of the trap that way you can shoot them. If you enjoyed the tutorial please leave a +1 or if you want to leave a comment. Minecraft, A Guide To Redstone Part 2

A Guide To Redstone ( Minecraft ) 2

Trip Chest Trap!

This is a trap that is disguised as a cave with a chest in it.
Place stone like this. This is the housing for the tripwire hooks.

Now place the tripwires into the housing. The tripwires are indented inwards so they're not visible.

Now place string in the two gaps between the tripwire hooks.

Now place some more stone. Leave the indentation for Dispensers.

Now place in the dispensers.

Now finish of the stone for the cave.

Place a double trapped chest in the end of the cave.

Now place a repeater and a piece of redstone behind the chest this will activate a piston trap later on.

Now place redstone linking the tripwire to the dispenser. The dispensers will fire arrows so you need to fill them up with arrows.

Now build up the cave like this

Now place two repeaters to make a delay between the tripwires being triggered and the arrows firing.

Place the repeaters on both sides other wise it will fire an arrow for no reason.

Now place two sticky pistons like this. Make sure to put stone in-front of them.

Now place redstone like this.

Now lead the redstone down like this

Place a stone block to place a redstone torch on.

Now place a redstone torch on the side and link it up like this. This produces whats called an Inverter it give the opposite of what it receives.

The inverter means when the chest isnt open the pistons are powered meaning they're extended.

Place gravel above the stone that's extended by the piston. That way when the chest is opened the pistons will retract and the gravel will drop.

So when i open the chest...

The gravel drops!

Now remove the dirt here. This is where the drop trap will go.

However I realized you must adapt the circuitry above other wise it will interfere with the drop trap.

Now place the pistons in the gaps on each side.

You must then wire up the pistons like this on this side.

On the other side you must wire it up like this.

Now make a 22 block deep hole.

Place 2 trapped chests and 2 normal chests. Place the normal chests diagonal to each other and then place the trapped chests in the gaps.

There is no difference to the trapped chest as there is nothing for them to activate in this case.

Now place hoppers above the chests. This way when the intruder get dropped you will get their stuff!

Now place stone over the gap to disguise it.

Make sure to keep the gravel and arrows stocked up.

See it works like a charm.

Now cover it up so no-one can see its a trap!
