Minecraft, A Guide To Redstone Part 3
This redstone tutorial will teach you how to make a door open when a specific music disc is played in a jukebox.
Firstly you need a jukebox and a disc of your choice you can use any disc.
Now place a comparitor so the jukebox is the comparitors input is the jukebox.
Different discs give off different signal strengths
13= Signal strength of 1 blocks
cat= Signal strength of 2 blocks
blocks= Signal strength of 3 blocks
chirp= Signal strength of 4 blocks
far= Signal strength of 5 blocks
mall= Signal strength of 6 blocks
mellohi= Signal strength of 7 blocks
stal= Signal strength of 8 blocks
strad= Signal strength of 9 blocks
ward= Signal strength of 10 blocks
11= Signal strength of 11 blocks
wait= Signal strength of 12 blocks
(A jukebox giving off a signal)
If you want to use the disc wait as your disc then keep reading. If not skip down till you get to "Using The Other Disks"
Using The Disk "Wait"
This is an optional extra it makes it light up when any disk is placed in the jukebox.
I have build a housing for the jukebox so it looks better.
Now build this door you must use stick pistons.
Now place an inverter here.
Now wire it up, make sure to place a repeater at the start of the inverter and make sure the wire is the exact size.
This is the final room.
Now if you place "Cat" into the jukebox only the lights work.
But when you place "Wait" in the door opens to.
Using The Other Disks
This is the part of the tutorial which shows you how to use any other disk except for "Wait"
I am going to use "Mall" (Note: The wire after the comparitor should be the length of the signal the chosen disk gives out plus 1) The repeater are there for 2 reasons.
1.To stop the wires from joining
2.To keep the signal strong.
Now you need to place an "And Gate"
Now you need to build an inverter from the "And Switch" to another "And Switch". Then you need to trail a wire from the side into the second "And Switch".
(Just A Close Up...)
Now place your door and an inverter. Then bring your wire to the inverter.
Now if you place a disc which isn't "mall" into the jukebox it will not work.
This is because if its signal is 7 or higher it powers the first "and switch".
It then gets inverted meaning the second "and switch" cant work.
Its OK if you don't fully understand how this works just watch in working and over time you will understand. I hope you can use this to keep your diamonds or your loot safe or just to make an awesome base .If you enjoyed the tutorial please leave a +1 or if you want to leave a comment.
